At Gemini Youth Orchestras...

...we believe that music is one of the most eloquent expressions of our common humanity and that developing this expression in our children is not only engaging and exciting, but can also provide the fundamental building blocks for a successful and rewarding life!

Gemini Youth musicians have the opportunity to work with internationally acclaimed conductors, composers, and coaches in a positive community environment that fosters creativity and leadership. Our ensembles have performed throughout Long Island and NYC, including at Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, the Tilles Center, the John Adams Playhouse (Hofstra Univ.), and the Adelphi University Performing Arts Center.

In addition to our Concerto Competition newly established in spring of 2016, our 2016/2017 season brought an expansion of our program offerings. Our unique articulation agreement with Five Towns College enables qualified 10th, 11th and 12th graders to earn college credit for participation in our Concert Winds, Philharmonia, and Youth Symphony ensembles.

This announcement section will be the primary method of communicating general information. Check back regularly for updates!

While we will be having the Symphony dress rehearsal this evening, we understand that you all are coming from different areas where driving conditions may be changing more rapidly than anticipated.

Please use your good judgment and know that if you are not comfortable bringing your child to campus, his or her absence will be excused. Your safety is most important!

Reminder: The Concert Winds dress rehearsal is 5-6pm on Friday, December 15th at Five Towns.  The Youth Symphony dress rehearsal is 6:15-7:30pm on Friday, December 15th at Five Towns. For those of you who are new to GYO, dress rehearsal is a misnomer: please wear your regular clothing, not your concert dress, to Friday's rehearsal.

Remaining ticket sales will take place 5:30-7:15pm on December 15th in the Five Towns College Lobby. Additional ticket sales will take place at Adelphi immediately prior to the concerts. Tickets are $25, general admission. We accept cash or check made payable to 'GYO'. As we are eager to accommodate you, any families with handicapped seating needs should email by Monday, December 11th.

The Student Advisory Board will be running a concession stand two hours prior to each concert on Sunday, December 17th. There will be snacks, water, and a retro merchandise flash sale. NO food or drink will be allowed in the concert hall. Please use approved receptacles for all trash.

The E-Office will be closed December 24th-January 1st. Happy Holidays!
