Gemini Repertory Orchestra offers young string players an essential introduction to the fundamentals of ensemble performance. Through engaging rehearsals and guided instruction, musicians build a strong foundation for a lifetime of music-making and prepare for future success in Gemini’s advanced orchestras. Appropriate for string players who have at least one year of experience on their instrument and are comfortable reading music.

Gemini String Orchestra further develops students’ skills in string ensemble performance. Geared toward musicians performing at NYSSMA Levels IV–V, this orchestra provides intensive technical training and prepares students for progression into Gemini’s symphonic ensembles. Repertoire is thoughtfully chosen, emphasizing original editions with select arrangements performed as appropriate.

Gemini Youth Symphony is GYO’s premier full symphonic orchestra of strings, winds, brass and percussion, welcoming the organization’s most advanced musicians. The ensemble explores a wide-ranging repertoire, with a strong emphasis on the grand symphonic works of the 19th and 20th centuries, alongside selections from other eras and styles. Students auditioning should perform at a Level VI/All-State standard to be considered.
