SUSAN DELGIORNO
Executive Director
Susan DelGiorno is a classical music executive with over 25 years of experience in various positions in the industry. She has worked on several hundred recordings, many of which have been nominated for Grammy awards and other prestigious honors. Susan has worked with luminary artists such as Anne Akiko Meyers, Thomas Hampson, Susan Graham, Leonard Slatkin, London Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonia, and conductor Alan Gilbert, in addition to many living composers like John Corigliano, Mason Bates, George Tsontakis, and Libby Larsen. She is responsible for creating the phenomenally successful Bach Guild Big Box digital download series, which consistently topped Amazon.com's classical record charts due to the concept, attractive price point, and creative marketing.
Trained as a clarinetist, she holds a BS in Music from Hofstra University, studying under Naomi Drucker. She plays orchestral and chamber music and lives on Long Island with her family and pets.
JOANNE GARCIA
Comptroller
Joanne Garcia is an expert in operations and supply chain management. Her career began at a major television network in the IT department where she provided data security and support for over 2200 clients in sales, broadcast operations, news, the Olympics, radio, and television. She moved over to the financial team in 2000 where she managed multiple multi-million-dollar projects in capital improvement, IT, broadcast operations, disaster recovery, and engineering. As Manager or Network Operations Procurement, she led the competitive bidding and purchasing processes for, vendor selection, and negotiated software, hardware, and facilities contracts, and purchasing agreements.
After over thirty years in broadcasting and operations, Joanne moved to the aviation field. As Director of Procurement, she led the procurement and management of domestic and international equipment and parts sales for snow removal equipment used at airports. She developed and negotiated parts purchasing agreements and contracts with major airports to provide support for their equipment.
After working in the aviation field, Joanne accepted a position as Materials Planning Manager for a factory where she led a team of 14 responsible for the purchase, warehouse inventory, production planning, shipping and receiving of material and finished goods.
Joanne began playing violin at 9 years old and continues to perform as an adult. She has performed with the Long Beach Symphony, the Rockaway-Five Towns Orchestra, the North Shore Symphony, and the West Islip Symphony as well as various pit orchestras and quartets throughout Long Island. She has also served as a Board Member and Librarian for the West Islip Symphony.
Today, Joanne is the Operations Manager for the Long Island Violin Shop where she manages inventory, suppliers, rentals, lessons, and sales for three retail locations.
Joanne holds a BBA in Business Administration and has been certified as a Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) by the Institute of Supply Management (ISM).
Joanne Garcia serves as the Comptroller for Gemini Youth Orchestras. She ensures the accurate financial management of the organization while fostering a positive work environment.
